SIAM (Supporters In Area Music)
This is the single largest fundraiser for the music boosters and is a district-wide effort among all of the Lincoln-Way Music Booster organizations. The SIAM card is a discount card which can be used at hundreds of locations throughout the Lincoln-Way area. In August, the music students sell the cards door-to-door throughout all of the district communities. The cards are also available at all four high schools and select area businesses.
Butter Braids & Cookie Dough
A fundraiser which give students the opportunity to sell delicious treats to family and friends and raise money for their IBA’s.
Wreath Sale
This is another district-wide fundraiser. Students have the opportunity to sell wreaths and other pine decorations in order to earn money for their IBA. Sales take place in October and wreaths are delivered in November, shortly before Thanksgiving.
Jewelry
Students are given a catalog of various items which family and friends can order from for later delivery. Profits go to the students’ IBA’s.
SCRIP
You and your friends and family can purchase gift cards for places you shop at on a regular basis or to give as gifts. Fundraiser materials will detail the percentage for each retailer that can be earned for the IBA.
Spaghetti Dinner
Our first Spaghetti Dinner was held in May 2010 before the Spring Concert. Besides the spaghetti dinner, it featured vendors who set up displays for dinner guests to browse. The vendors also donated raffle prizes which helped earn additional funds. All proceeds from the dinner went toward the music booster general fund. This year dinners are planned for October 22nd prior to the LWW varsity football game and again on May 19th prior to the Spring Concert.
Pampered Chef
Friends and family can order from the Pampered Chef catalog or website and profits go to the student’s IBA.
West Fest
Two fundraiser ideas -- a Taste of Lincoln-Way and a craft show -- are being combined into one event to maximize traffic for both. This is a new event and is still in the planning stages. We plan to have local restaurants offer small size portions for attendees to sample (similar to Taste of Chicago). At the same time, part of the school will be set up with various craft booths for browsing and shopping.
Flower Sale
Flats of high-quality flowers are sold with orders placed ahead of time and delivery shortly before Mother’s Day. This is another district-wide effort and also an IBA fundraiser.
Jazz Night
This will be the first year for this event. We envision the West cafeteria turned into a jazz club, with coffees and desserts available for guests. More details to follow!
Car Wash
The second annual car wash was held Saturday, June 26th. Students can raise money for their IBA accounts by soliciting donations prior to the car wash, and donations received during the car wash go to the music booster general fund.
What is an IBA?
Each student can establish an Individual Bank Account (IBA) with the boosters and profits from certain fundraisers are credited to the student’s account. The funds can then be used to pay band fees, trip expenses, etc.
